University of California Berkeley Acquires BookDrive DIY to Use In Its Digitization Project.

The University of California, Berkeley (UC Berkeley) has decided to acquire the BookDrive DIY system from Atiz Innovation, Inc. to use in the university’s digitization project.

UC Berkeley, recognized as ‘the best balanced distinguished university in the U.S.’ by American Council on Education, has one of the best libraries in the world providing an enormous amount of educational information both physically and digitally to its students, its staff, and the public.

Besides many other significant digital projects, UC Berkeley also has been working on the Museum Informatics Project which assists museums and archives to broaden access to primary academic collections and data by scholars, students, and the public.

With the ability to scan pages of books, magazines, or even newspapers at the speed of 700 pages per hour, BookDrive DIY will help the university convert printed resources into digital versions productively and cost-effectively.
