Atiz at Fifteenth Jubilee International Conference -Crimea 2008

ATIZ scanners were presented at the Fifteenth Anniversary International Conference “Crimea-2008″ “Libraries and Information Resources in the modern world of science, culture, education and business”, held from 7 to 15 June,2008 in Sudak, by ALEE SOFTWARE company and PIRIT Systems Ukraine company.

“Crimea-2008″ conference is the world forum for professionals and managers of libraries, publishers and book-trade organizations, information centres, museums and archives, science, culture and education institutions, computer and Internet companies, business and law. The conference “Crimea-2008″ topic was: “Libraries, information and educational technology in civil society.”

ATIZ scanners were presented as samples of new scanning technology, in particular, ATIZ BookSnap, which was shown to library community widely at the first time and caused real interest of university libraries and small regional libraries; and his “older brother” ATIZ BookDrive DIY , sales leader in 2007.

Comparing with last year, book scanners based on digital cameras are highly recognized. Many libraries have already acquired ATIZ scanners and came for consultation and experience exchange on working with the equipment. Many specialists are interested in using ATIZs for scanning rare large book funds. Ukrainian digitizers transferred to electronic format large volume of 17-18 centuries documents last year and note high quality of received images and minimal impact on the original.
